An Elvis Sighting, at a Zaidy's War Book Talk

Program #76, Book Talk #37, Synagogue #12, Zoom #6: Temple Ahavat Shalom Book Club, Palm Harbor, FL

I had the loveliest time presenting Zaidy's War to the lovely folks at yet another book club who enjoyed my book and were eager to have me present it to them. I'm always game for that.

The audience was kind and attentive, and I felt right at home immediately because there was a large Brooklyn contingent. There's no place like home, and the Brooklyn-to-Florida pipeline is in full effect.

Highlight: as usual, I expounded the reasons for Zaidy's leaving Israel for the US, after living there for 16 years. I explained that the cover story was - until the true story came out when researching the book - that my mom came to the states to see Elvis, and was so smitten, that she refused to go back home, forcing everybody to leave for The States.

So, after the Q&A portion, a lady stayed behind to tell me that her mother dated Elvis Presley.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to follow up on that, because I may have found a long-lost sibling.
